Robots will patrol the streets of Singapore
In the next 3 weeks, the robot will start patrolling the streets of Singapore where there is a crowd of pedestrians. It will start from Toa Peioh Central Road. The robot named 'Xavier' will keep an eye on whether anyone is breaking any rules while moving on that road. The robot will be responsible for monitoring state-designated "unwanted social behavior" violations.
Among such behaviors, the Covid-19 will focus on "gathering more than five people" as a safety precaution and smoking in public and selling something on the street illegally.
Xavier will not be able to avoid accidentally parked bicycles or any other vehicle. Even if the motorcycle is placed on the sidewalk, the robot will take care of it.
Xavier will inform the command center about this. Besides, it will show the message on its screen to teach people proper behavior.
With the help of the camera in the robot, the command center can see everything around in 360-degree view. It can take pictures using IR and low light cameras even in low light. On the other hand, an AI system will analyze whether there is anything in the video captured by Xavier that requires a human worker to be present.
It has sensors so that the robots can move around and avoid moving obstacles.
